Junior Golf Camps in Scotland 2027: Discover Our Four Experiences
By Rick Valentine, PGA Professional and founder of RV Golf Schools
Discover RV Golf Schools’ 2027 junior golf camps in Scotland, with four experiences for golfers aged 7–18. Running from 4–31 July, our summer programme includes weeks in St Andrews and The Open Week based at Dollar Academy, combining professional coaching, time on the course, friendships and growing independence.
For 2027, families can choose between Development, Ultimate, Hidden Gems and Signature. Each experience offers a different way to enjoy camp, helping you find the right fit for your golfer’s age, experience and confidence.
Whether your child is building their confidence or already enjoys competitive golf, our aim is to help them improve, enjoy their golf and return home with new friendships and lasting memories.
Four golf camp experiences to choose from
Development Experience — ages 7–11
Development gives younger golfers a welcoming introduction to golf camp, combining age-appropriate coaching with opportunities to learn, play and make friends.
No handicap is required. The emphasis is on developing skills and confidence while enjoying the game, with coaching suited to each golfer’s stage of development.
Development is available during Weeks 1, 3 and 4 in St Andrews.
Ultimate Experience — ages 10–18
Ultimate combines professional coaching with the wider experience of summer golf camp: time on the course, shared challenges, new friendships and growing independence.
No handicap is required. It offers a choice for golfers at different stages, with coaching appropriate to their ability and objectives.
Ultimate is available across all four weeks.
Hidden Gems Experience — ages 12–18
Hidden Gems is designed for golfers who have an official handicap and are comfortable playing 18 holes.
Alongside coaching, golfers can develop their course management, decision-making and confidence through varied golf experiences. It is a chance to discover more of Scottish golf while sharing the experience with other enthusiastic junior golfers.
Hidden Gems is available across all four weeks.
Signature Experience — ages 14–18
Signature is for established golfers with a handicap of 15 or better who are comfortable playing 18 holes.
It combines professional coaching with a golf experience suited to confident players who want to challenge themselves, develop their game and enjoy their summer alongside golfers with a similar enthusiasm.
Signature is available across all four weeks.
Professional coaching in every experience
Every experience includes two hours of group coaching each day, adapted to the golfers’ ages, abilities and objectives.
We want golfers to understand their own game, build confidence and put their learning into practice on the course. Coaching is an important part of camp, alongside the enjoyment of playing and spending time with other junior golfers.
For those choosing Ultimate, Hidden Gems or Signature, the optional High Performance Coaching enhancement provides additional individual attention and technology-supported feedback.
Summer golf in St Andrews and The Open Week
Our four-week programme gives families a choice of dates and the opportunity to combine more than one week.
•Week 1: 4–10 July 2027 — St Andrews
•Week 2 — The Open Week: 10–17 July 2027 — Dollar Academy
•Week 3: 18–24 July 2027 — St Andrews
•Week 4: 25–31 July 2027 — St Andrews
Week 2 is residential only, with Ultimate, Hidden Gems and Signature available.
A multi-week stay gives golfers more time to settle into camp life, build friendships and develop their game. Depending on age, ability and availability, golfers may also be able to combine different experiences across their stay.

Residential or non-residential golf camp?
Residential camp brings together golf, accommodation, meals, staff support and evening activities, giving golfers the opportunity to enjoy the full camp experience.
It also gives junior golfers time to build friendships beyond the course and develop confidence and independence within a supported environment.
Non-residential places are available during Weeks 1, 3 and 4. Lunch is included, while families arrange their own accommodation and daily travel. Breakfast and dinner are not included.
Our Golf Experiences page explains the options to help you choose what works best for your family.

More than a week of golf
I have been running junior golf camps since 2003. Over that time, I have seen how much young golfers can gain from the experience: improving their game, making friends, building confidence and becoming more independent.
Those experiences remain at the heart of RV Golf Schools in 2027.
Good coaching matters, but so does feeling welcome, enjoying the challenge and looking forward to the next day. We want golfers to leave with skills they can continue to develop at home—and memories that stay with them long after the summer.
