How The Right Facilities in Golf Camps Help Coach Young Players Smarter, Not Just Harder?
Developing young golfers is about more than practicing harder, it’s about practicing smarter. The right environment, facilities, and coaching structure play a crucial role in how effectively players improve.
From accommodation and course variety to professional coaching and structured daily schedules, a well-designed camp at Dollar gives young golfers the tools, confidence, and focus they need to grow on and off the course.
Accommodation That Supports Learning and Focus
The campers at Golf Camp Dollar have the unique opportunity to live in a beautiful, historical environment created by the academy, while still being able to stay connected to the 21st century. The relaxing bedrooms, the large communal living rooms, the beautiful gardens, and the quiet study areas make Dollar Academy feel like a true “home away from home” for campers.
All campers will find themselves with access to bathrooms, showers, kitchens, and dining areas within each boarding house. Campers can stay connected through the extensive use of computer labs and Wi-Fi located throughout Dollar Academy.
In addition to the extensive academic element that comes with attending an academy such as Dollar, campers will also find themselves having time to unwind and relax by spending evenings with friends within the boarding houses or taking part in organized group activities. By allowing campers an opportunity to socialize and have a chance to relax and recharge, young players will develop into well-rounded, confident, focused, and prepared players who will benefit from every opportunity they have to practice.
Course Variety That Develops Strategy and Adaptability
Young golfers have the opportunity to learn how to play differently on different types of golf courses by participating in junior golf camps. They will have the opportunity to play both links (like those found in Lundin Links) and inland parkland courses within the areas of Fife and Dollar. While participating in this camp, they will play a minimum of three different courses, providing them with exposure to a multitude of different styles, terrains, and obstacles throughout the week.
Links courses teach you how to be strategic when hitting shots. Links courses are hard and fast and located by the coast, which is why it is very important for players to hit their shots accurately. When you come to an inland parkland course located near Dollar, it is important to have control over where you are hitting your shot, as you are surrounded by trees and the course has undulating hills. When players switch back and forth between inland and links courses, they develop their ability to adapt to their environment, creating a foundation for confidence when playing in various conditions.
Coaching & Practice Facilities That Ensure Comprehensive Improvement
Elmwood Golf Club is situated in the heart of Fife and is the perfect venue for both coaching and practice. With an 18-hole parkland golf course, a large driving range, as well as dedicated areas for pitching, chipping and putting, Elmwood Golf Club has everything you need to help you succeed on the golf course. In addition to the outdoor facilities, Elmwood Golf Club also offers Indoor Teaching Studios and indoor & covered bays for students who wish to practice regardless of the weather.
At Elmwood Golf Club we provide coaching for all areas of the game. Whether you are part of a group or receive one-on-one coaching, your instructor will be able to identify your specific needs and create a plan that will help you improve in areas where you struggle, develop your technique, and build your skill set. Through the combination of on-site play and the use of the specialized practice areas, young golfers will be able to show measurable improvement while having fun during the process of learning to play.
Daily Schedule That Balances Practice and Rest
Camp days have a structured schedule to include development of skill and 'course' playing time, along with personal development. During the morning hours, the campers will receive coaching and practice time in the areas of golfing fundamentals including `driving`, `approach`, `short game`, and `putting`. In the afternoon, the campers have the opportunity to implement everything learned throughout the camp in real-life situations on the golf course allowing for improved decision-making skills.
Campers also have time in the evenings for social events, relaxation, and self-reflection. The camp's schedule will allow players to train effectively without over-training, assist with both mental and physical training, and keep participants enthusiastic and focused while attending the camp.
